HSE CREATIVE OPEN: A Global Student Competition by HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL
The competition aims to bring together original ideas and standout projects across design, contemporary art, and fashion, while highlighting career opportunities in the creative industry.

About the nomination
One-Page Comics are the foundation of the medium. Once upon a time, the modern comic story began with small humorous micro-stories in newspapers—what we now refer to as strips. Today, a one-page comic can convey any emotion, from unrestrained joy to meditative contemplation, and can be rendered in any technique, from stark black-and-white graphics to vibrant, inspired Art Nouveau color splendor. The key is that the final comic must be a cohesive work that occupies exactly one page.
Nomination task
The task is to create a one-page comic — a complete, self-contained story that requires no prior context and has no continuation. Please ensure that your submission is genuinely a comic rather than a single caricature. It must include a sequence of multiple images arranged in a frame grid, with at least two panels.
Submission requirements

Completed one-page comics should be submitted in card format on the artz.work platform with the tag «illustration.» The work must be no smaller than A2 in size.

The project should be presented as a presentation that includes a brief concept and one piece taken from the card on artz.work.
Authors may submit an unlimited number of works, whether thematically connected or not. However, each work must be submitted as a separate presentation, each containing one original comic. The presentation should clearly convey the author’s intent and artistic vision.
